About HostMet

Why this directory exists

Hosting an event online used to mean picking a meeting app and hoping it held up. Now there are separate tools for every stage: registration, webinars, conferences, captions, streaming, polls, workshops and recaps, most of them adding AI features every season.

Lists of these tools are easy to find, but many are ranked by whoever paid the list's author or padded with descriptions copied from marketing pages. HostMet sorts tools by the job a host needs done instead, describes each one in a plain line we wrote ourselves, and says what to check before you commit an event to it.

Every description is checked against the tool's own site, and details we can't confirm are marked as not enough info rather than guessed. Tools that close or merge into other products are removed when we notice.

We don't rank tools or invent ratings. Paid placements are labeled Sponsored, and they never change what we write about a tool.

How tools are chosen and described

A tool is listed once we have confirmed that its official site is live and that it does the job its description says. We write every description in our own words and keep it short. We don't copy marketing text, publish scores or rank tools against each other.

Event tools change quickly, with features, limits and plans shifting from season to season. Anything we can't confirm stays unpublished until we can, and we remove tools that shut down or merge into other products.

Right now that is 61 event hosting tools in 8 categories, last checked 2026-11-03.

Makers can submit or claim a listing for free. A person checks every request before anything changes. Paid placements are marked Sponsored wherever they appear, and they never change what we write about a tool.

Corrections and removals

If a listing is wrong, or a tool has shut down, tell us. We answer within a week and rebuild the directory with the change.
